05.31.11 -HADLEY, BERKENPAS TAKE CROSS COUNTRY LEAD IN CANADA CUP STANDINGS

(Ottawa, ON – May 31, 2011) Here are the results of the 2011 Canada Cup cross country races held in Baie Saint-Paul, QC on Sunday May 29.

In the Men’s Elite category, Matt Hadley (Mount Hope, NB/Xprezo-Borsao) takes his second win of the 2011 Canada Cup National Cycling Series and sits atop the current standings.

In the Women’s Elite category, Jean-Ann Berkenpas (Valemont, BC/Xprezo-Borsao) finished first of Sunday’s race and takes over the lead in the women’s standings, holding a 20-point lead over Catherine Vipond (Oshawa, ON/Norco Factory Team).

The next race of the Canada Cup National Cycling Series, the third cross country race of the season, will be held in Barrie, ON, on Sunday June 5th.
